Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how Teleprompter: Hands-Free (the "App"), made by Ditra ("Ditra", "we", "us"), handles information when you use it on iPhone and iPad.
The short version: your scripts and recordings are yours. We don't run accounts, we don't show ads, and we don't sell data. The App is designed so that we never see the content you create.
Summary
| What | Where it lives | Can Ditra see it? |
|---|---|---|
| Your scripts | On your device, synced via your private iCloud | No |
| Your recordings | On your device and in your Photos library | No |
| Voice audio for voice-follow | Processed on device when possible; by Apple for some languages, only with your permission | No |
| Anonymous usage analytics | TelemetryDeck | Only aggregated, anonymous statistics |
| Purchase and subscription status | Apple and RevenueCat | Only an anonymous app user ID and purchase status |
Scripts
Scripts you write or import are stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled for the App, scripts are synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit private database, which belongs to your own iCloud account. Ditra has no access to your private iCloud data and cannot read your scripts. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
You can delete scripts at any time in the App. Deleting a script removes it from your devices and from your iCloud private database the next time sync runs.
Camera, microphone and recordings
The App asks for access to your camera and microphone only so you can record video of yourself and so voice-follow can hear you. Recordings are saved on your device and, if you choose, to your Photos library. Ditra does not receive, upload or store your recordings.
Access to Photos is used only to save recordings you make. You can change any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Speech recognition
Voice-follow uses Apple's Speech framework to match what you say to your script. Whenever your device and language support it, recognition happens on device and your audio never leaves your iPhone or iPad.
For some languages, on-device recognition is not available and Apple's speech recognition servers are used instead. In that case, audio is sent to Apple and processed under Apple's privacy terms. This only happens after you grant the App permission to use speech recognition, which iOS asks you for explicitly. Ditra does not receive your audio or transcripts.
Analytics
To understand which features are used and to fix problems, the App sends anonymous usage signals (for example, "a recording was started" or "voice-follow was enabled") to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These signals:
- do not include your name, email address, scripts, recordings or audio;
- use an anonymized identifier that is hashed before it leaves your device and is not used to identify you;
- are used only by Ditra in aggregate, never for advertising.
Purchases and subscriptions
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Ditra never receives your payment card details or Apple ID.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription and purchase status (for example, whether your free trial or subscription is active). RevenueCat receives purchase receipts from Apple together with a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID. This ID is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID by us.
What we don't do
- We don't require or offer user accounts.
- We don't show ads or use advertising identifiers.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't sell, rent or trade your data.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Content you create stays on your device and in your own iCloud and Photos library until you delete it. Anonymous analytics and subscription records are kept by our providers only as long as needed for the purposes above. Because these records are anonymous, we generally cannot link them to a specific person. If you have a question or request about your data, contact us and we will help where we can.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Because the App is designed not to collect personal data, there is usually little or nothing for us to provide, but you can always contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page.
