Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how Printrue: Actual-Size Printing (the "App"), made by Ditra ("Ditra", "we", "us"), handles information when you use it on Android.
The short version: everything stays on your device. The App has no account, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. It doesn't even have permission to use the internet, so it cannot send your files or any other data to us or to anyone else.
Summary
| What | Where it lives | Can Ditra see it? |
|---|---|---|
| Photos and PDFs you print | On your device only | No |
| Printer checks and settings | On your device, and in your own Google backup if Android backup is on | No |
| Purchase of Printrue Pro | Google Play, and a copy of the status on your device | No (Google Play reports sales to us without your payment details) |
| Printer reports you choose to send | In an email you write and send yourself | Only if you send it |
No data collection
The App does not collect, store on our servers, share or sell any personal data. There is no account and no sign-up, and we don't ask for your name, email address or phone number. The App contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting software, and it does not request Android's internet permission. Ditra has no server for the App.
Your photos and PDFs
You choose each photo or PDF yourself, through Android's photo picker, the system file picker, or by sharing it to the App. The App does not need, and does not ask for, permission to read your photo library or storage. The App works on a private copy of the file on your device to lay it out and print it. Files are never uploaded, and the original file is never changed. Recent items and their copies stay in the App's private storage until you remove them or uninstall the App.
When you print, the App hands the page to Android's printing system and to the print service you choose (for example your printer's plug-in or Mopria Print Service). When you save or share a PDF, it goes where you send it. Those services and apps handle the file under their own privacy policies.
Printer checks and settings
Your printer checks (the measurements that make prints come out at the right size), printer names and settings are stored on your device. If Android backup is turned on, Android may include them in your own Google backup, under Google's privacy policy. Photos and PDFs are not included in the backup. Ditra cannot access your backup.
Purchases
Printrue Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play. Google Play processes the payment under Google's Privacy Policy. Ditra never receives your payment card details. The App asks Google Play whether you own Pro and keeps that status on your device. Google Play gives us the usual sales reports for the App, which don't include your payment details.
Printer reports and email
If you choose Send printer report, the App shows you the full report first: app and Android version, device model, paper and print-service details, your printer check values and recent print results. It contains no photos, PDFs or file names. It then opens your email app, and the report is sent only if you send that email yourself. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply, and we keep them only as long as needed to help you.
Crash reports from Google
If you have allowed your device to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google may provide us with aggregated crash and performance statistics for the App (Android vitals in Google Play Console). This is controlled by your Android settings and Google's privacy policy. The App itself does not collect or send this data.
What we don't do
- We don't require or offer user accounts.
- We don't show ads or use advertising identifiers.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't use analytics.
- We don't sell, rent or trade your data.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Everything the App stores is on your device. Remove items in the App, or uninstall the App to delete all of its data. You can delete your Google backup in your Google account settings. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Because the App does not collect personal data, there is usually nothing for us to provide, but you can always contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a future version of the App ever needs internet access or collects any data, we will update this policy and the Google Play data safety section before that version is released.
