If a print comes out the wrong size, tap Send printer report in the App's Help & tips. It opens your email app with your printer details, so we can see what happened. You see the whole report before you send it.
Getting the size right
My print is too small or too big
- Run the printer check (it takes about a minute). Print the check page, then measure the two arrows with a ruler or a bank card. Printrue fixes width and height separately, for each printer and paper.
- Check your print screen's size options. Many print screens quietly shrink pages to fit. If yours shows an option such as Fit, Fit to page or Scaling, choose 100%, Actual size or None. With some print services it is under More options.
- Use the same paper and printer. The paper loaded in the printer and the paper chosen in the print screen should match the paper in Printrue (for example A4 or Letter). Choose the same printer in the print screen as in Printrue.
How do I know a print is exact?
Measure the check square on the print. It should be exactly the size shown in the App (for example 2.5 × 2.5 cm on photo prints). Tap Yes, exact and your printer shows Verified ✓. If it's off, tap No, it's off, type what you measured, and Printrue corrects the next prints.
My pattern's test square is wrong
Measure the test square on page 1 of the pattern and type what you measured after the print. Check that the pattern's paper (A4 or Letter) matches your paper: Printrue warns you before printing if it doesn't, and tells you whether anything would be cut off. It never shrinks a pattern to fit.
The edges are cut off
Printers can't print right up to the edge of the paper, so Printrue keeps your content off the edges. If something is still cut off, check the paper size set on the printer itself.
Can I print borderless?
That depends on your printer. If your print screen has a Borderless option, turn it on. The exact edges are then up to your printer, so the size can be a little off.
Printers and print shops
I can't find my printer
Printrue prints through Android printing. Install your printer's plug-in or Mopria Print Service from Google Play, then try again. You can also use Save PDF and print the file another way.
Printing at a print shop
Use Save PDF and choose the print-shop option. Ask the shop to print at Actual size or 100%, not Fit.
Pro and privacy
How does Pro work?
Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play. If you reinstall the App or get a new device, use Restore purchase with the same Google account.
Does Printrue upload my files?
No. The App has no internet access, no account and no tracking. Your photos and PDFs are processed on your phone. See the Privacy Policy.
